Travolta Film Workshop, week 1

... burning the LED candle at both ends!

The Performing Arts Project is wrapping up its first of two weeks.

Participants are certainly putting in their time creating and producing their shorts to put together into the finished project. Their multifaceted approach to learning is applicable to many life situations. Their vocational training can be extended to many jobs. Add participant enthusiasm and staff dedication and you have a winning program!

For those who are worried about funding in these difficult times, the funding for this project was not affected by any county funding decision. It is good to know that things such as this have a better chance of continuing. For more information or to provide your feedback on this and other projects, please contact the Arts Counsel of Kern or your county supervisor.

For the kids and young adults who are participating, the 8:30am-2pm days are going fast. They are really enjoying their time in this wonderful program. There are even participants from another country to participate, observe, and maybe even recreate their own film projects at home. This summer Performing Arts Project will end June 18th. Watch for more information about the resulting film's premier!
